Hay Day Fishing Guide

How to prevent your catch from getting away

When you have a fish hooked onto the end of your line quickly alternate moving to the opposite side and back again across the centre of the fishing spot. Repeat this until you’ve caught the fish! You still need to pay attention to what the fish is doing in case you need to make adjustments, but most of the time this will prevent the fish from going for a run and snapping the line if you don’t react quick enough.

Pay attention to the size of the circle that appears when you hook a fish

When you first hook onto a fish a circle will appear on the water at the end of the line. The size of the circle along with the spot will determine what type of fish is likely to be on the end of your line. You can keep trying for the right size circle using the same hook by letting go (lifting your finger of the screen) of the fish after it’s hooked. Try different locations and colored hooks until the right size circle appears.

The Fishing Spots aren’t the same

You will only catch some of the fish in the fishing journal in specific fishing spots. In addition to this some fish are only able to be caught during a fishing event. Use the map of the lake and table below to determine what lures you need to use, when and where!

My Fishing Book

Some fish are only available in certain areas of the lake and can only be caught with a particular colored lure. Pay attention to the inner circle size and the way the the fish reacts when hooked. This will help you predict what’s on the end of the line.
